September is Type Month

For anyone interested in AIGA Pittsburgh, this whole month is Type Month and there are a lot of cool events coming up!

On their Instagram page, AIGA Pittsburgh is hosting a Daily Drop Cap Challenge and have the possibility to win a cool prize from Sapling Press.

Pints & Pixels is a membership drive they are holding with free appetizers and the opportunity to hang with other designers.

There is a Soapbox Lecture with the Typography Workshop host Yomar Augusto where he’ll talk about his career, works, and craft and process.

The day after the Lecture, Yomar is holding a Typography Workshop to show his process and how he combines his typography.

Paul Barnes and Christian Schwartz are also having a lecture titled “Five Years of Commercial Type.” They will be talking about their influential type foundry, process, and style.

There is a Ghost Sign Walking tour to talk about the signs of yesteryear and to get in the mood for Halloween.
